The Ethereum scaling solution uses zero-knowledge proof technology (ZK-Rollups), performing off-chain computations on the second layer to cut costs and speed up transactions.

According to Polygon representatives, zkEVM will be equivalent to EVM. This means developers will be able to integrate Ethereum applications into the new network without significant changes.

has been ongoing for more than a year. The code has undergone two external security audits.

Earlier, the Polygon team launched a public zkEVM testnet in October 2022, and in December unveiled its final version ahead of the mainnet launch.
