According to the developers, a temporary hotfix was issued to fix the issue. The network has resumed operation, and user funds are safe.

“We are working on a long-term solution and will publish updates on the official forum and in other communication channels,” the project representatives emphasised.

Co-founder Mihailo Bjelic explained that the problem arose from a “minor Bor upgrade.” This, in turn, led to a failure at the Heimdall layer and a several-hour pause in block production overnight between 10 and 11 March.

Polygon is one of the largest blockchain ecosystems. Built on the platform are more than 7,000 decentralized applications.

The total value of assets involved in the Polygon DeFi ecosystem stands at $3.6 billion.

Data: DeFi Llama.

Back in October, the Polygon team paid a white-hat hacker $2 million for a vulnerability that threatened losses of $850 million.
