Polygon token up about 44% since the start of the year

The price of Polygon (MATIC) token has risen by 44.7% since the start of 2023. Layer 2 network for scaling Ethereum has come in second place by daily active users, behind only BNB Chain.

At the time of writing, the coin trades at about $1.11. This is roughly 62% below its all-time high recorded in December 2021 at $2.92.

“We are seeing a broad uptick in TVL among higher-risk projects and early-stage applications. In a bear market, investors are more conservative and do not want to take on huge risks, but prices have risen a little, and they are open to new systems such as Polygon,” told CoinDesk by Phuture’s head of Growth Charles Story.

\n\n

According to the expert, network activity could grow further thanks to projects that have not yet issued their own tokens but are expected to do so soon.

\n\n

Earlier in January, the Polygon team announced a partnership with payments giant Mastercard under the Web3-programme Mastercard Artist Accelerator for new musical performers.
