Porsche Announces Its Own NFT Collection
The German car maker Porsche will launch its own non-fungible token (NFT) collection in January 2023. It will comprise 7,500 NFTs.
The series is based on the automaker’s iconic Porsche 911 model. The company calls the initiative a ‘fusion of the physical and digital worlds’.
The first Porsche NFT collection was designed by Hamburg-based designer and 3D artist Patrick Vogel.
As Crypto Daily notes, the initiative marks the automaker’s move into the Web3 space. Porsche aims to integrate new technologies into its business and is considering moving its supply chain onto the blockchain.
The company is also examining environmental sustainability issues through the Web3 lens.
In 2021, another German carmaker — Audi — released its own NFT collection.
In December 2022, Timex announced a limited-edition line of wristwatches. They will be produced in the designs of the NFT collections Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club.
