Premiere: News Podcast ‘Return Tone Vays’
“Return Tone Vays” is a news podcast with the ForkLog editors and friends of the ForkLog magazine, in which we discuss the main events and texts from the past week.
Topics for the first episode: a breach of Curve decentralised exchange and its implications for the DEX sector, a new wave of meme tokens, trading Telegram bots, and the Bitcoin ETF situation.
Participants: Lena Jess, Alex K.
Special guest: Head of Analytics and Research at HAPI Labs, Mark Letsyuk.
Host: Aremefe.
Curve Situation
On July 30, a major breach occurred on Curve Finance, the decentralised exchange. An unknown actor siphoned $47 million from liquidity pools, exploiting a vulnerability in the Vyper code. In response, leading market players, including Justin Sun (Tron) and Du Jun (Huobi), acquired the exchange’s own tokens for around $24 million.
Telegram Bots
Telegram bots for cryptocurrency transactions are gaining popularity in the Telegram messenger. Experts warn: the risks of losing digital assets when using them outweigh all the advantages they offer. We take a closer look to see if that is the case.
Account Abstraction
This tool is often described as key to the mass adoption of Web3 technologies. Alex K., who prepared for ForkLog readers a breakdown of the topic, explains what account abstraction is.
ETF Race
Two to one. Bloomberg judged the odds that the SEC would approve a Bitcoin ETF. Meanwhile, six proposals have been submitted to the Commission, seeking to launch Ethereum-based exchange-traded funds.
BALD Meme Tokens
The Coinbase L2 network Base has unleashed a wave of meme tokens that play on the appearance of the exchange’s founder Brian Armstrong. The assets were named BALD (\”bald\”), and their traces lead to a well-known businessman with a luxuriant mane.
