The international online conference on data protection and privacy, Privacy Day, organized by Privacy Accelerator and the Digital Rights Center, will take place on January 29, according to the organizers.
The central theme for the 2024 event will be the new challenges posed to cybersecurity experts by artificial intelligence technologies.
The conference is divided into three thematic tracks: “Privacy Issues in Business,” “Protection of Citizens’ Privacy and Digital Rights,” and “Technological Trends.” Speakers at Privacy Day 2024 will include:
- Sarkis Darbinyan, Head of Legal Practice at Roskomsvoboda;
- Ivan Begtin, Head of Open Data Armenia and ANO “Information Culture”;
- IT journalist Sultan Suleymanov;
- Julia Haas, Advisor to the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media;
- Stanislav Shakirov, Technical Director of Roskomsvoboda;
- Andrey Zakharov, journalist and author of the book “Crypto”;
- Alexander Tyulkanov, Researcher at the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies at the University of Strasbourg;
- Oleg Ageev, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Association of Journalists;
- Anastasia Kruope, Junior Researcher for Europe and Central Asia at Human Rights Watch, among others.
Additionally, the conference will feature a roundtable with regulators from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Georgia.
“We will discuss current challenges in privacy and internet freedom with leading global technical experts. New projects and startups in the privacy sector will also be presented,” the organizers add.
The broadcast will begin at 9:00 Kyiv time (10:00 MSK) on the Privacy Day YouTube channel.
