Prominent tech blogger says he was offered money for covert promotion of TRON

The tech journalist Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) released a ten-minute YouTube video about Dogecoin. In it he showed a letter offering money to post on Twitter about TRON (TRX).

The authors of the letter speculated that MKBHD would become yet another participant in the advertising campaign alongside actress Lindsay Lohan and musicians Ne-Yo and Lil Yachty.

Porn star Kendra Lust shared enthusiastic responses. According to her, PornHub also harbors sympathy for the TRON network.

Justin Sun said that the TRON Foundation has no relation to the letter, and he does not know who is behind it. He said the Foundation’s policy requires celebrities to disclose payments for promoting cryptocurrency.

Justin Sun stated that he offered TRON to several celebrities for evaluating the blockchain it promotes. He also admitted sending bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies to “engage with a technology that will revolutionize financial services”.

Analyst The Block Larry Cermak agreed that the campaign was not initiated by the TRON Foundation but by a third party. He described the methods used as “ugly” and praised MKBHD for candour and honesty.

Earlier Justin Sun decided to speak out, playing on the hype around assets promoted by members of the r/WallStreetBets community on Reddit.

In September ForkLog wrote about The Verge, in which Justin Sun’s business model was described as ‘brothel marketing’.
