On August 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law permitting the legalisation of cryptocurrency mining in the country, as reported by TASS.
The document will come into effect on August 18, with the provision for a miners’ registry starting on November 1.

Additionally, a law was signed today allowing foreign trade settlements and cryptocurrency exchange trading under experimental legal regimes (ELR) from September 1. The Central Bank of Russia will regulate this activity.
Previously, Putin described the crypto market as “a very dynamic and promising area of the modern economy.”
