On December 9, an unknown buyer acquired the rare token #4156 from NFT-collection CryptoPunks for 2500 ETH (~$10.26 million at the time). The deal was completed on the Larva Labs marketplace, the creator of the series.
It is a rare Ape Punk, of which only 24 exist in the collection of 10,000. The token also carries a \”bandana\” attribute (present on 481 Punk).
The buyer has already put the NFT up for sale at an initial price of 4160 ETH (~$16.81 million).
The deal was the largest on the Larva Labs marketplace in dollar terms. The most expensive token in the history of the collection is the \”COVID\” CryptoPunk #7523. In June it went under the hammer at Sotheby’s auction for 4520 ETH ($11.8 million at the time of the deal).
Earlier in October, the owner of CryptoPunk #6046 refused to sell it for 2500 ETH. He said the token was too closely tied to his personality and identity.
