Ready Player Me platform for 3D avatars raises $13 million

The Wolf3D startup, behind the Ready Player Me platform for creating universal avatars across different virtual spaces, announced that it raised $13 million.

The round was led by Taavet+Sten, co-founders of Wise and Teleport. Participants included Konvoy Ventures, Nordic Ninja and Samsung Next Ventures, Tiny VC, GitHub co-founder Tom Preston-Werner, and others.

According to the statement, Wolf3D will deploy the funding to accelerate its global growth.

The company says that more than 900 virtual worlds use its solution.

“By providing people with avatars that travel across virtual worlds, we can make the metaverse more interconnected,” said the company’s CEO Timmu Tyke.

As reported by Huobi analysts, the success of the next generation of blockchain games is linked to the development of GameFi.
