Reddit and Ethereum Foundation to develop scaling solution for the second-largest cryptocurrency

The social content platform Reddit объявила о партнерстве с Ethereum Foundation to develop scaling solutions for the blockchain of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

«We aim to accelerate progress in scaling and developing the technology to run large-scale applications such as Community Points on the Ethereum-based platform. The jointly developed technology will be based on open-source principles and will be publicly available», wrote Reddit administrator jarins.

Last year, under the Community Points program, the platform launched its own ERC-20 tokens to reward users of the r/Cryptocurrency and r/FortNiteBR subreddits for high-quality content and community participation.

The MOONS and BRICKS coins can be exchanged for badges and other privileges. They are available on the Rinkeby testnet, but users have found a way to exchange them for popular cryptocurrencies.

Back in June 2020, Reddit asked Ethereum developers to help scale the Community Points program.
