Since 2017, Ukraine has seen more than 80 Web3 startups launched, collectively attracting about $1 billion in investments over the past four years. This is according to a report by Hypra, a venture fund.
According to Hypra, the leaders by investment volume are the team behind the Solana blockchain platform and developers of the NEAR Protocol project — they received a total of $315.8 million and $524 million respectively.
According to the report, more than 50 Ukrainian companies specializing in decentralized technologies serve clients globally.
Ukrainian-origin founders have established 10 venture funds, including those focused on players in the digital assets market. The largest by number of relevant portfolio companies are ZBS Capital (82), TA Ventures (6), Hypra (4) and SID Fund (3).
In October 2022, blockchain developer BoostyLabs and the Hypra fund launched a venture studio for Web3 startups.
