Ripple CTO David Schwartz urged holders of digital assets to consider selling some of their holdings to reduce risk.
“If you hold sums in cryptocurrency capable of affecting your life, please take the time to seriously consider a partial sale to reduce risk and openness to the market,” — Schwartz.
He added that his comment is not a market forecast.
In January 2018, the Ripple CTO shared a successful tip to lock in profits at the peak of the bull run.
In October 2020 Schwartz disclosed that, as part of a family-risk-reduction plan, sold 40,000 ETH at $1. At the time of writing, this was nearly $96 million.
In November 2020 the Ripple CTO spoke of unsuccessful bets on obscure altcoins. He said that losses exceeded $300,000.
In March 2021, the popular crypto analyst Willy Woo called selling Bitcoin “insanity” right now.
On April 14, the price of the first cryptocurrency surpassed the $64,000 mark. Ethereum hit a new all-time high above $2,350. Dogecoin rose more than 90% in a day and reached $0.14.
