“Crossmark is the first browser-based digital wallet built on top of the XRP Ledger and supporting most built-in features and types of transactions,” said the team’s lead specialist who goes by the handle Intercoder.
The extension will be available for Chrome, Opera, Firefox and, according to the developer, functionally similar to MetaMask from ConsenSys.
Crossmark can be connected to the mobile XRP wallet XUMM. In the future, integration of other solutions such as Gem Wallet and Ledger is possible.
However, according to the programmer, tools for interaction between different wallets on the XRP Ledger are not yet developed.
An early version of Crossmark is already being tested by a limited group of users. The extension still lacks some anticipated features.
The team plans a public launch of the upgraded wallet in the “coming months.”
In May, Ripple launched a platform for issuing CBDC and stablecoins on the XRP Ledger.
