Robinhood client data put up for sale on the dark web

A respected user of a dark-web forum has announced the sale of Robinhood customers’ personal data. This is reported by the Telegram channel ‘Data Leaks’.

The seller is offering a list of 5 million email addresses and full names of 2 million Robinhood customers.

Separately, it is noted that extended data for 310 users, including their names, dates of birth and postal codes, are not for sale yet.

Earlier, on November 3, an unknown caller phoned Robinhood’s support line and, using social engineering techniques gained access to the platform’s customer information.

According to the company, Social Security numbers and card data were not disclosed, and none of the users suffered financial losses.
