The online broker Robinhood запустил a service that automates periodic investments in digital assets.
Options include daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly intervals. The service costs $1. By the end of September, it will be available to all users, except residents of New York. There are no transaction fees.
“Savings are a habit; recurring investments align with the strategy for growing assets over time.”, the blog says.
Regular investing helps focus on long-term growth, reduce risks, and alleviate the stress associated with таймингом. The service effectively implements a dollar-cost averaging strategy (Dollar-Cost Averaging). This smooths price fluctuations and reduces the risk of buying assets at their highs.
The company’s founder Vlad Tenev noted client crypto activity along with access to an IPO service among the factors affecting the financial results. In July he called digital assets the foundation of the company’s future development.
The share of digital asset trading in the platform’s total in the second quarter rose from 17% ($88 million) to 41% ($233 million).
Robinhood is working on implementing wallet-related crypto features, as well as launching new products, including lending and savings accounts in digital assets. Bloomberg also found testing of a feature to shield crypto investors from volatility.
