Rosbank first to exchange tokenised gold for digital rubles

Rosbank, in partnership with the Atomyze platform, conducted the первую в РФ сделку for exchanging tokenised gold using digital rubles.

“To become an investor or issuer on the CFA platform, a user must register in the mobile or web version of the application. Information about the transfer of ownership rights to the ЦФА will appear in the investor’s and issuer’s personal accounts, and the token will be stored in a special registry,” according to the bank.

The investor places a trade offer to sell the CFA in the required volume, and a potential buyer accepts it. After the deal is concluded, the buyer settles with the investor in digital rubles.

The transfer of ownership of the CFA and the payment are reflected in the investor’s and buyer’s personal accounts.

According to the Bank of Russia, as of November 2022, the first three operators conducted in total 15 issuances of digital financial assets worth 170 million rubles.
