Russia Declares WhiteBit an Undesirable Organisation

Russia declares WhiteBit undesirable; linked to 'grey' schemes.

The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has declared the activities of the cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBit, along with its affiliated and subsidiary structures, undesirable within the country. 

“This European cryptocurrency trading platform is used by cryptocurrency exchanges and exchangers for various ‘grey’ schemes to withdraw funds from Russia, as well as other illegal activities,” the agency’s website states. 

At the time of writing, the exchange had not issued any public comments. 

WhiteBit was founded in 2018 by entrepreneur Vladimir Nosov and is registered in Lithuania. 

In April 2025, Roskomnadzor blocked the domains of the crypto exchange aggregator BestChange.
