Actor Artem Tkachenko became a victim of a cryptocurrency scam and lost nearly $200,000 and 6 million rubles. The Telegram channel Baza reports this.
Tkachenko met entrepreneur Grigory Muluzyan at the end of 2021 on the recommendation of colleague Pavel Derevyanko, who had also fallen victim to ill-fated crypto investments.
Tkachenko deposited 7.5 BTC into a wallet and gave Muluzyan access to it. At first, the actor regularly received a 10% monthly return from trading.
Later profits began to dwindle. While filming in Yalta, Tkachenko tried to log in to the account, but it was blocked along with 10 BTC in the balance. Muluzyan explained this as a restriction on users located in Crimea. He also promised to help unfreeze the balance for 0.5 BTC.
In the summer of 2022, Tkachenko and Derevyanko accepted Muluzyan’s offer to acquire stakes in his crypto business for $150,000. When Bitcoin’s price began to fall sharply in autumn, the entrepreneur advised Tkachenko to sell the coins. However, he saw neither money nor the business again.
The actor has now filed a police report.
As of the end of August, it emerged that, due to unsuccessful investments in the crypto business by Pavel Derevyanko, are demanding more than 45 million rubles in two lawsuits.
