Analytics company Mindsmith has launched the first open library of materials on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
At present the library contains more than 70 studies, including reports from international regulators, as well as central banks’ technical experiments.
Analysts believe CBDCs could spur a new leap in the technological and financial development of national payment systems and the global economy.
The library is designed to help businesses and researchers navigate the CBDC landscape.
“As with all new and uncertain technologies, the introduction of CBDCs raises many thorny questions. We stand on the cusp of innovations, many aspects of which remain to be conceptualised and implemented,” said Ruslan Yusufov, managing partner of Mindsmith.
The creators of the library regularly update it and welcome fresh research and materials by email: info@mindsmith.io.
According to Mindsmith’s January study, 74% of central banks are interested in blockchain technology.
