Russian customs in Krasnodar halt illicit mining-equipment imports from Abkhazia

Russian customs officers in Krasnodar halted illicit import of cryptocurrency mining equipment from Abkhazia.

As reported by the customs service, this concerns two incidents. In the first case, customs detained a resident of Abkhazia with “equipment in the form of gray metal boxes in a quantity of 11,” which are presumably mining devices.

In the second case, another resident of Abkhazia also attempted to transport mining devices.

Goods were seized, samples of the devices were sent for examination. Depending on the results, offenders may face administrative proceedings.

As reported in February, an aide to a deputy in Abkhazia was dismissed for transporting mining equipment.
