Russian Finance Ministry revises crypto bill and submits it to the government
The Russian Ministry of Finance has refined the draft law ‘On Digital Currency’ taking into account positions from various agencies, according to the Finance Ministry’s website.
The document clarifies certain provisions, including those relating to mining.
The draft was sent to the government.
The document aims to regulate the circulation of cryptocurrencies and provides for conducting operations with them through Russian banks, identification of crypto-wallet holders and the separation of investors by qualifications.
Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Financial Markets Committee, said that the law could be enacted in parallel with amendments to the Tax Code concerning the taxation of crypto-asset transactions.
Experts interviewed by ForkLog noted that the previous version of the draft contained a number of technical typos, and did not designate the regulator of the cryptocurrency market in Russia.
