A 29-year-old resident of Saratov fell victim to scammers who posted an advertisement for the sale of GPUs for cryptocurrency mining. The local prosecutor’s office said.
While seeking components for a mining rig, the victim contacted a ‘manager of an online store.’ He was given bank account details for payment.
The Saratov resident transferred almost 570,000 rubles to the ‘seller,’ but did not receive the GPUs.
Police opened a criminal case into fraud.
