Russian Mining Companies Ranked by Revenue

The publication RBC, using data from Rusprofile, has calculated the revenue of Russian mining companies for 2023 and compiled a corresponding ranking.

Leading the list is the data center operator BitRiver, whose five legal entities declared a total of 12.56 billion rubles for the period under review. This represents a 59% increase over 2022 figures.

The total capacity of the company’s 12 data centers exceeds 533 MW, housing over 175,000 units of computing equipment. Fourteen sites with a combined capacity of more than 1 GW are under development.

In second place is Intelion Data Systems, with revenue doubling in 2023 to 2.27 billion rubles. The company’s total capacity reached 136 MW, with plans to build new data centers with a capacity of 347 MW.

Rounding out the top three is Promminer, whose revenue in 2023 reached 1.42 billion rubles. The total capacity of the company’s data centers is 30 MW.

Also included in the ranking are:

• Sibmain — 1.25 billion rubles. Capacity up to 80 MW, with 225 MW under development;
• BitCluster — 0.86 billion rubles. Capacity of 60 MW, preparing to launch a data center in Ethiopia with 120 MW;
• CryptoReactor — 0.72 billion rubles. Capacity up to 75 MW with potential to increase by another 25 MW;
• “Mining Cluster” — 0.54 billion rubles. Capacity of 134 MW;
• GIS Mining — 0.51 billion rubles. Capacity of 32 MW.

Earlier, BitRiver calculated that by the end of 2023, Russia had secured second place in cryptocurrency mining volumes, trailing the United States. Russian miners generated about 54,000 BTC last year. Meanwhile, the country operated an average of up to 2.2 GW of mining capacity compared to 1 GW in 2022.

Russia’s share of the global hash rate is 14-17%.
