The resources were blocked as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of false bomb threats. Letters about bomb threats were received from the anonymousspeech and vistomail приходили письма о минированиях.
These services were also used by Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
On August 15, 2008, the Bitcoin.org domain was registered on anonymousspeech.com. A few months later the Bitcoin white paper appeared here.
Subsequently, in correspondence with developers, Satoshi Nakamoto stated that he had bought the domain, though he did not specify from whom.
The email satoshi@vistomail.com appeared in Nakamoto’s communications with users and developers in the early days of Bitcoin development.
The identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains unrevealed. ForkLog has compiled the most popular theories about who may be behind this name in one piece.
