Russian woman loses over 600,000 rubles in cryptocurrency scam

A 46-year-old resident of Salekhard lost about 626,000 rubles to a cryptocurrency scam. The regional MVD reports.

In January 2022, the victim responded to an online-money-making investment offer. An unknown man who introduced himself as a market analyst called back and proposed investing money in cryptocurrencies.

Over the course of a month, the woman sent money to third-party accounts until she realised she had fallen victim to scammers.

A criminal case has been opened in connection with the fraud.

Earlier ForkLog reported that a Moscow resident had 7 million rubles stolen during the purchase of cryptocurrencies.
