The Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of Russia has opened a ‘virtual reception’ in the .onion domain of the Tor network.
«If you are outside Russia and have important information about threats to the security of the Russian Federation, you can send it to us in a safe and anonymous way through the SVR’s virtual reception in the Tor network», — is stated in an SVR сообщении.
As reported by «Current Time», on the SVR site a link to the message appeared as early as December 30, 2020, but journalists only noticed it now.
SVR also offers downloading the Tor browser or the Tails OS and cautions against “using smartphones, computers and other electronic devices associated with you or your acquaintances to access the network and stay connected” if you are concerned for your safety.
For added protection, the agency recommends encrypting the letter using the PGP system.
According to the publication, this is the first darknet reception among European intelligence agencies.
