Sam Altman ousted as OpenAI CEO
OpenAI announced that Sam Altman stepped down as chief executive officer and left the board. The interim CEO role was taken by Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati.
The decision was made following an internal review.
“Mr. Altman was not always frank with the board, which hampered its ability to carry out its duties. The board is no longer confident in his ability to continue leading OpenAI,” the company said in a statement.
OpenAI intends to search for a permanent successor to the CEO.
Earlier in November OpenAI held a presentation, during which it showcased turbo versions of ChatGPT and introduced a developer assistant.
