Keonne Rodriguez, co-founder and CEO of the anonymous Bitcoin wallet Samourai Wallet, has pleaded not guilty to charges of operating an unlicensed money transmitting business and laundering illicit proceeds. This was reported by CoinDesk.
On April 29, Rodriguez was released on a $1 million bond, secured by real estate in Pennsylvania and co-signed by his wife and another family member.
Rodriguez is required to remain at home with a location-tracking device, except for court appearances.
The next hearing is scheduled for May 14.
Earlier, the U.S. Attorney’s Office charged Rodriguez and Samourai Wallet CTO William Lonergan Hill with facilitating the laundering of $100 million for cybercriminals and sanctioned individuals.
Authorities claim that since 2015, the wallet has processed anonymous transactions totaling $2 billion.
Hill was detained in Portugal, and his extradition is under consideration.
If convicted, each founder faces up to 25 years in prison.
