Samsung Unveils Galaxy S25 with AI Focus

The Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 “open the door to an AI-integrated OS that fundamentally changes how we use technology and live,” noted Roh Tae-moon, head of the company’s mobile division.

In 2024, Samsung launched Galaxy AI, a set of AI features for the then-flagship S24 series. The S25 introduces additional AI applications aimed at making the smartphone a personal digital assistant.

The new devices can perform tasks across multiple apps. For instance, a user can ask the smartphone to find the schedule of their favorite football team’s matches and add it to the calendar, or locate nearby restaurants and send the information to a specific contact.

AI features are supported in third-party apps like Spotify, WhatsApp, and Google services. The artificial intelligence can adjust phone settings at the user’s request.

The Galaxy S25 better understands natural speech, images, and videos, searches for information and photos in the gallery, and recognizes phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs on the screen.

The devices employ post-quantum cryptography to protect personal data from threats that may intensify with the development of the next generation of computers.

To power neural networks, Samsung, in collaboration with Qualcomm, developed the special Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It provides a 40% performance increase in the NPU, 39% in the CPU, and 30% in the GPU.

The chip is equipped with a Vulkan Engine and enhanced ray tracing for increased smoothness and realism in mobile games.

Key changes in the S25 Ultra compared to the previous model include an improved camera and more rounded corners of the body.

Starting prices are as follows:

• Galaxy S25 — $799;
• Galaxy S25+ — $999;
• Galaxy S25 Ultra — $1299.

The devices will go on sale on February 7, with the company already accepting pre-orders.
