Satoshi-era Bitcoin wallet moved 1,005 BTC
On Aug. 14, an unknown user moved 1,005 BTC mined in 2010, drawing the attention of blockchain researcher Kirill Kretov.

At the time of credit to the original wallet, 13 years ago, the coins were worth $328. They are now valued at more than $28.5 million.
Because these bitcoins were mined a year after the first cryptocurrency emerged, the community speculated that the address is linked to its anonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

However, Kretov, in a comment to Cointelegraph, refuted this theory. He said it was more likely a long-term holder or an organization connected with earlier movements of the first mined coins totaling 13,000 BTC during 2020–2021.
The researcher also noted that the holder could have been selling the bitcoins through OTC trades:
“I would expect the price to be higher than the current market price, because these are 100% clean bitcoins. Not to mention how old they are, which makes them especially attractive to crypto-numismatics.”
Meanwhile, the same balance in Bitcoin Cash remained on the original wallet.
As previously noted, on July 22 an inactive wallet for more than 11 years moved all holdings of 1037 BTC worth about $31 million.
