Sberbank’s blockchain platform to gain Ethereum network support

Sberbank announced the technological compatibility of its own open blockchain platform with the Ethereum ecosystem of decentralized finance Ethereum.

This will enable developers to port smart contracts and entire projects between the bank’s infrastructure and other open networks.

Participants on Sber’s platform can issue their own tokens and create smart contracts, settling them in rubles.

Sberbank will also enable interaction of its network with the MetaMask wallet and add the capability to launch DeFi applications.

Developers can submit applications to Sber to gain access to the platform.

Earlier on March 17, the Bank of Russia included the Sber platform in the registry of information-system operators. Attaining this status gives companies the right to issue and trade digital financial assets within the platform.
