SBU seizes a farm of 100 ASIC miners from Odessa warehouse

Officers of the SBU found at one of Odessa’s warehouses a mining farm that allegedly ran on stolen electricity. The agency’s press service reported.

According to investigators, two local residents were involved in creating the farm. They connected the equipment to the railway’s power lines.

Some of the proceeds from the operation were converted into foreign currency and moved abroad through intermediaries. The rest of the cryptocurrency was kept in their personal wallets, the SBU said.

\n\n

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized more than a hundred ASIC miners, communications equipment and documentation bearing evidence of illicit activity.

\n\n

The preliminary amount of damage amounts to several million hryvnias. The seized devices have been sent for examination, and the pre-trial investigation continues.

\n\n

Earlier in December 2021, power engineers found in a forest near Kyiv an illegally connected crypto-mining farm.
