Scroll Network Unveils Airdrop Criteria

Developers of the Layer 2 solution Scroll have announced the first airdrop of the SCR token, revealing the criteria for its distribution.

The blockchain has allocated 7% (70 million SCR) of the total coin supply for distribution. Of this, 5.5% is designated for the community as a reward for network activity. Tokens will also be distributed to ecosystem projects, developers, and researchers.

Data: Scroll.

The claim will open on October 22 at 10:00 (Kyiv/MSK).

Community criteria include:

Additional boosts are also provided for badge holders.

For ecosystem projects, the network will allocate 6.977 million SCR. Over 100 teams are eligible for distribution based on two criteria — a certain volume of locked value and built-in Scroll integration.

A further 1.15 million tokens will be directed to those who have made significant contributions to technical research and the development of the L2 solution. An additional 1.66 million SCR is intended for early repository participants.

Moreover, coins will be distributed to data providers and aggregators, public organizations, hackathon winners, and other members of the Scroll community.

On October 11, cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced the launch of a pre-market with real tokens, not derivatives. The first was SCR, which at the time of writing is trading around $1.4.

The Scroll network was created in 2021 with the aim of scaling Ethereum to a billion users. In October 2023, the project launched its mainnet.

According to DeFi Llama, the total value locked in the protocol amounts to $836 million.
