SK Telecom unveils Web3 wallet for cryptocurrencies

South Korean telecom giant SK Telecom unveiled its own cryptocurrency wallet, developed in collaboration with Team Blackbird, the company behind CryptoQuant. CoinDesk reports.

In addition to its core functions, the wallet includes blockchain data analytics tools. According to Ki Young-ju, CEO of Team Blackbird, this will assist users in investing and trading.

Head of SK Telecom’s Web3 team, Chon Seung Kim, said the solution would “foster the growth of South Korea’s cryptocurrency market, known for its high trading volumes and substantial local interest in the industry.”

Company announced its own wallet for digital assets back in July 2022. At that time, blockchain firms AhnLab Blockchain Company and Atomrigs Labs were involved in its development.

MoneyGram announced its own non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet using stablecoin technology. It will be introduced in the first quarter of 2024.

Earlier in October, the non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet Trust Wallet underwent a major rebranding.
