Snoop Dogg to launch digital cannabis farms as NFTs
American rapper Snoop Dogg, in collaboration with MOBLAND, will create digital cannabis farms in the project’s metaverse, ForkLog reported.
MOBLAND aims to become a pioneer in the Grow-and-Earn concept, providing users of the virtual world with a broad range of services for business buildings and land parcels. The project’s metaverse has a mafia-themed setting and is described by the team as “the crypto version of the Mafia Wars video game.”
The startup is backed by Twitch co-founder Justin Kan, Terra co-founder Do Kwon, Animoca Brands, and other investors.
As part of the collaboration with Snoop Dogg, metaverse participants will have access to a limited collection of digital cannabis farms as non-fungible tokens and exclusive content from the rapper’s son — an NFT collector known as ChampMedici.
According to the musician, he suggested the idea for the release and proposed MOBLAND as a partner.
\”I’ve spent my life watching my father play video games. Cannabis and joysticks go hand in hand with him. So I think it was an obvious decision to bring together the metaverse and digital weed,\” said ChampMedici.
In February, Snoop Dogg announced the transformation of his Death Row Records into the first NFT label.
In 2021, the rapper revealed that is Cozomo de’ Medici, who has assembled a collection of hundreds of non-fungible tokens.
