Solana Co-Founder's Ex-Wife Accuses Him of Hiding Staking Profits

Elisa Rossi, the former wife of Solana co-founder Stephen Akridge, has filed a lawsuit against him for withholding staking income during their divorce proceedings.

The couple filed for divorce in March 2023 after a decade of marriage. Under the terms of their agreement, Rossi was entitled to a portion of their joint savings in SOL tokens. Due to the “acrimonious and protracted” nature of the process, she agreed to 25% instead of the standard 50%.

According to her, Akridge provided access to three accounts where the assets were held. However, he allegedly continued to secretly earn staking income, amassing “millions of dollars.” Rossi discovered this “months later.”

The lawsuit claims that throughout 2024, she repeatedly asked Akridge to return the money, but he refused. Rossi believes her ex-husband sought to exploit her limited knowledge of cryptocurrencies to appropriate the funds.

The specific amount has not been disclosed. The parties involved have yet to comment publicly on the proceedings.

The case is being considered in the San Francisco Superior Court and includes five charges, including breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and fraud.

At the time of writing, the SOL token is trading at $190, with a market capitalization of $91.52 billion.
