Solana team unveils open-source plugin for the ChatGPT chatbot

Solana Labs, the team behind the Solana blockchain, has created a basic open-source reference implementation of a ChatGPT plugin that lets users interact with the Solana network.

Users will be able to check wallet balances, transfer tokens, and purchase NFTs through the AI once the plugins based on the reference implementation become available.

For developers who want to test the software and run their own version, the code is published on GitHub.

At the same time, the Solana Foundation announced the creation of a $1 million fund to award grants for research into the intersection of the Solana blockchain and AI.

Relevant projects can expect to receive between $5,000 and $20,000. To be eligible for a grant from the fund, developers must ensure their solutions are open source and publicly available at launch.

“High throughput and scalability of Solana provide a unique opportunity to realise entirely new ideas with the help of AI. The grants are intended to encourage the blockchain ecosystem to explore new use cases for these modern technologies,” the statement said.

Earlier, Binance, the Bitcoin exchange, launched a chatbot based on ChatGPT as part of its online academy.
