Sony and Startale Unveil Super App for Soneium L2 Network
Startale Group and Sony introduce the Startale App for Soneium's L2 solution.
Startale Group and Sony have introduced the Startale App, a super application that will serve as the entry point to the L2 solution Soneium, developed by the blockchain division of the Japanese corporation.
The super app will provide users access to TGE, airdrops, and rewards within the Soneium network. Several ecosystem projects plan to use it for distributing incentives.
The Startale App employs account abstraction, allowing users to dispense with seed phrases, conduct gas-free transactions, and simplify wallet management. It also supports mini-applications, enabling developers to create services without separate websites.
Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Group, stated that the Startale App removes the main barrier to Web3 adoption — a fragmented user experience.
“We have created a platform that makes the transition to on-chain as intuitive as opening a regular app,” he added.
Watanabe noted that the application is compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem. It will also leverage Japan’s regulatory clarity for stablecoins and tokenized assets.
The Startale App is currently in closed beta testing. The official launch date remains unknown.
Back in January, the launch of the Soneium mainnet took place. On the same day, users accused the project developers of blocking “undesirable” tokens.
In March, Sony’s division entered into an agreement with Japan’s leading messenger LINE to transfer four mini-games to Soneium.
