Sorare signs partnership with the English Premier League

Sorare, the fantasy football platform, заключила a partnership with the English Premier League (EPL). According to CityAM, the four-year deal is worth £120 million (about $150 million).

Non-fungible token (NFT) buyers will be able to assemble their own teams from footballers’ collectible cards for trading and online competitions with other players.

“Digital cards and Sorare’s innovative online game represent a new way to feel closer to the Premier League. […] We consider Sorare the ideal partner,” said EPL CEO Richard Masters.

Sorare works with more than 300 football clubs and teams around the world. In September 2021 the platform raised $680 million at a valuation of $4.3 billion.

In October the UK Gambling Commission initiated an inquiry into Sorare’s activities. Company representatives said they were prepared to engage with authorities.

In November of the same year, the Russian Premier League (RPL), in partnership with Sorare released an NFT collection featuring digital cards of players from all 16 RPL clubs.
