During a search of Algaba’s apartment, police found a passport, a computer, clothing, two suitcases, a bag, and a prescription for medications for anxiety disorders. His wallet and mobile phone could not be located.

Algaba had an unpaid loan to banks amounting to 1.2 million Argentine pesos ($4,400) and two more debts by checks totaling $73,300.

Investigators suspect the involvement of an organised group, and the likely motive could have been financial obligations. Police have already detained one of the suspects.

In May 2018, the founder of the YouTube channel “Kryptach,” Pavel Nyashin, was found hanged in his own apartment in Saint Petersburg. According to the blogger’s mother, he may have taken his own life due to debts.
