Members of the Spanish Congress of Deputies received cryptocurrency from the decentralized educational platform Tutellus and Blockchain Observatory. The initiative is aimed at promoting the use of cryptocurrencies in the country, according to Cointelegraph, citing a local publication.

The amount received by 350 congressmen was symbolic — 1 euro in BTC.

Tutellus founder Miguel Caballero stressed that the cryptocurrency \”is not a donation\”.

He also said that some members of Congress may be familiar with digital currencies, but for those who have yet to gain experience, receiving a small amount will help them understand how they work.

Earlier in the United States, launched the advocacy group the Chamber of Digital Commerce. Under its auspices, $50 in bitcoin were sent to support the campaigns of members of Congress.
