SparX: Exploring the Wallet for TON, Hamster Network, and Other TVM Networks

In early 2025, ForkLog published a review of the Tycho protocol by Broxus for creating TVM networks of the first and second levels. For testing, the project team recommended downloading the SparX wallet.

We decided to delve deeper into how it operates, what features it offers, and whether it is worth installing for users of The Open Network (TON).

What is SparX?

SparX is a non-custodial wallet for the blockchains TON, Everscale, Venom, the Tycho testnet, the L2 solution Hamster Network, and other TVM networks.

SparX was developed by Broxus. Building on the experience of creating the EVER Wallet, the team introduced a more universal multi-chain application with an integrated browser for decentralized applications (dapps).

“The goal of SparX is to unify interaction with TVM networks. Everscale was the first such blockchain launched in 2020, but others like TON and Venom followed. Today, SparX is the only wallet for storing and managing assets across all TVM networks,” state Broxus.

How to Use SparX

The wallet is available on Android, iOS, and as a browser extension. The source code is open on GitHub. To install SparX, download the app/extension, then create a new seed phrase or import an existing one.

We chose to import a recovery phrase (in our case from the TON wallet Tonkeeper). After installing the application:

Data: SparX.

Once the wallet is created or imported, the owner immediately gains access to all TVM networks.

Addresses in SparX may seem unfamiliar to TON users. In TVM networks, the same address can be presented in different formats — any of which can be used for transactions.

For instance, in TON, there are three formats: Bounceable (starting with E), Non-bounceable (U), and RAW/HEX (0:). SparX users see the latter. Entering it into the Tonviewer blockchain explorer will lead you to your “familiar” TON address page. In Hamster Scan, it will display as an account alongside the address format in TON.

Data: Hamster Scan.

“Private keys are stored locally and encrypted — you fully control your funds. There is no personal data collection — your privacy is our priority,” asserts Broxus.

In March, Broxus introduced the Chain Connect bridge for transferring assets between TVM and EVM networks.

The team is also working on expanding SparX for Firefox, updating the dapp browser, and supporting the TON Connect protocol.

Conclusions

TVM networks include not only The Open Network, which has secured a place in CoinMarketCap’s top 20 thanks to Telegram support, but also other projects like the L1 blockchain Everscale and the L2 solution Hamster Network.

However, liquidity in these networks is fragmented, and most are developing as standalone projects. The SparX wallet by Broxus aims to unify all TVM networks in one interface. The success of this initiative depends on developers and user interest not only in TON but also in the broader TVM blockchain ecosystem.
