Accumulated staking rewards for Sponge V2 will be available for immediate claim on May 30 at 13:00 (Kyiv/Moscow time), according to representatives of the project who spoke to ForkLog.
“This means that all staking rewards will be immediately paid to Sponge V2 holders,” commented the Sponge team.
In May, developers announced the launch of Sponge V2 staking on Polygon and conducted a survey on reward distribution. The majority of participants (85.5%) voted for immediate claim.
Users eligible for the new version of Sponge include those who:
- purchased Sponge V2 through the presale widget on the project’s website;
- transferred Sponge V1 to Polygon by February 5, 2024;
- were included in the snapshot on February 5 after the cessation of Sponge V1 issuance.
The last group will receive an equivalent amount of V2 tokens without staking rewards. Centralized exchanges will automatically convert Sponge V1 to the second version on Polygon.
Sponge is a meme token launched in May 2023 on the Ethereum network. The asset is traded on Poloniex, Bitget, MEXC, and other centralized exchanges, as well as on the DEX Uniswap. Developers plan to release a P2E game Sponge in the near future.
