Square Crypto awards grant to Bitcoin-wallet interface designer

Square Crypto, the initiative from Jack Dorsey, announced a grant to designer Maggie Valentine, who is focused on making wallets user-friendly for people without technical know-how.

The grant will fund the development of an intuitive solution for widely accessible, secure storage of one’s first cryptocurrency. Valentine argues that lack of technical know-how should not be a barrier to using Bitcoin.

“Existing wallets overwhelm users who do not understand cryptography with complex concepts. Not everyone understands what a private key and a seed phrase are,” according to her proposal.

Valentine expressed gratitude and urged interested parties to share proposals with her.

Square Crypto is funding enhancements to the Bitcoin ecosystem under the “Open Dimes and Square Crypto grants” programme.

In June this year and at the end of last year, Square Crypto provided grants to develop the Lightning Network. The first recipient of the company’s funding was the developer of the BTCPayServer payment processor.
