Starknet, an Ethereum layer-2 network, has released SN Stack, a technology stack for building application-specific blockchains—appchains.
Build your very own Starknet; now available for everyone.
After years of battle-testing our technology, the SN stack is now ready for public use, enabling anyone to easily create their own custom chain using the most performant and cost-efficient ZK tech stack on the market.

According to the announcement, the solution has been in development since 2020. Its underlying technology has been used by projects such as Sorare, dYdX, ImmutableX and Paradex to launch their own protocols.
SN Stack is available in three variants:
- StarkWare Sequencer — a product with full access to Starknet’s infrastructure, designed for dapps with high performance requirements;
- Madara — a highly configurable, open-source modular suite;
- Dojo — a stack optimised for on-chain games.
All options include core components of the network’s ecosystem such as:
- the Starknet OS operating system;
- the CairoVM smart-contract execution engine;
- Blockifier — a Rust implementation of the sequencer that handles transactions and batches them into blocks;
- tools for generating cryptographic proofs (Provers) and verifying them (Verifiers).
“Thanks to the SN Stack, projects gain access to the advanced scalability, security, cost-efficiency and reliability of Starknet’s battle-tested technology, which they can adapt to their unique use cases,” the developers said.
In October 2024, Sonic (formerly Fantom) co-founder and architect Andre Cronje highlighted a number of существенных недостатков of appchains for deploying applications.
