The Pay Me in Bitcoin feature (“Pay me in Bitcoin”) binds salary to the account and allows selecting the amount that will be automatically converted and credited to the BTC balance. The service charges no commission.
Testing the Strike function began in December 2020. At that time, the app’s developer agreed with NFL player Russell Okung to convert half of his $13 million annual salary into Bitcoin.
In April, another NFL player decided to convert 100% of his club’s compensation into Bitcoin. Later their league colleague agreed to convert all income he earned from advertising.
Pay Me in Bitcoin on Strike will appear two and a half weeks after the implementation of Coinbase’s similar initiative.
The service is not available to residents of New York and Hawaii, according to CoinDesk. The company holds money-transfer licenses in Delaware, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico and Washington and uses Prime Trust for operations in other states.
Founder and CEO Jack Mallers described the feature as a way to counter inflation in an environment where savings-account interest rates do not keep up.
“Thanks to Bitcoin’s efficiency, everyone now has access to a higher quality of life. Anyone can save the best money of all time”, — explained him.
Because of the efficiencies #Bitcoin has achieved as money, everyone now has access to increasing their quality of life, because now everyone can get paid and save in the best money of all time.

In September, iOS Twitter users gained the ability to accept donations via the Lightning Network. According to company representatives, the service is built entirely on third-party solutions, such as Strike.
Earlier, the Strike team became an advisor to the Salvadoran authorities in implementing their plans to legalize Bitcoin in the country.
