Survey finds Russian awareness of Bitcoin has risen to 67%.

Public awareness of cryptocurrencies among residents of the Russian Federation has grown — over the last five years the share of Russians who have heard about Bitcoin rose from 16% to 67%. This is according to data from the research by the NAFI Analytical Center.

The share of those who ‘in one way or another understand the topic of cryptocurrencies’ has doubled—from 11% in 2017 to 22% now.

The majority of respondents are confident that Bitcoin’s price will rise over the next five years. However, many still fear investing in cryptocurrencies.

35% of Russians who have heard of cryptocurrencies see them as a riskier investment than investments in securities.

Experts noted that amateur investors view stock-market investments as more advantageous, while a large share of ‘professionals’ regard investments in cryptocurrencies as the preferable option.

19% believe that the risk and return of investments in cryptocurrencies and in securities are roughly the same.

According to Investing.com’s survey, 46% of non-professional investors in Russia consider cryptocurrencies a safe-haven asset.
