Survey: Russians Prefer Salaries in Dollars Over Cryptocurrency

According to a Forbes report, 53% of Russians would rather receive their salaries in foreign currency, while only 16% favour cryptocurrency. This data comes from a survey conducted by the international platform Stape among 5,000 individuals aged 18 to 55.

Among the respondents, 33% chose the US dollar, 28% preferred the euro, and 20% opted for the Chinese yuan. Only 8% of those surveyed wished to receive their entire salary in rubles.

Men were more likely to choose the US dollar for their salaries (36%), while women showed a preference for the euro (32.1%).

While 16% expressed interest in fully transitioning to cryptocurrency payments from employers, the majority admitted they do not consider digital assets stable and do not understand how they function.

In a mixed payment scenario, 28% of Russians would like to receive more than 50% of their income in foreign currency, and 25% would prefer at least a third of their salary in such currencies.

Some 39% of respondents would save their salary in foreign currency without converting it to rubles, while 32% would invest the funds received.

As reported by the central bank, over the past three years, residents of Russia have tripled their investments in cryptocurrencies.
