Suspect in Pump.fun Hack Arrested in London
The British police have detained a suspect in the hacking of the meme-token launch platform Pump.fun on Solana, as reported by Blockworks.
On May 17, the team claimed that the exploit, which resulted in $1.9 million in damages, was carried out by a former employee who took advantage of a “privileged position.” Igor Igamberdiev, head of research at Wintermute, confirmed that the incident involved the compromise of private keys and a user X known as staccoverflow.
The individual turned out to be Jarett Dunn, a Canadian citizen and former developer at Pump.fun.
According to a source familiar with the investigation, a private detective firm hired by a third party was responsible for the search. The source also confirmed the authenticity of a widely circulated screenshot of Dunn’s Binance account.

A Blockworks source revealed that detectives initially pinpointed his approximate location in London using social media. This was followed by a “massive hunt” employing local agents hired on contract.
Ultimately, Dunn was found at the Middle Eight hotel in the Covent Garden area, where he was arrested.
The suspect was later released on bail, as he confirmed on another account on X. The detective firm corroborated this information.
I am once again without any of my 2fa for a lil while. I spent overnight in custody as the pump team alleges I stole 2m of their Ill gotten gains with conspiracy to steal another 80m.

Dunn is expected to remain in the UK until the next court hearing in August.
Earlier in May, US police arrested brothers Anton and James Perayre-Bueno on charges related to an Ethereum blockchain exploit and the theft of $25 million in cryptocurrency.
